One of the biggest challenges of being a Christian is dying to your own will. We were created with a will of our own, but we are expected to submit our will to God. We must choose to obey God, He will not force us to obey him. Tests and trials come to show us where our will is not submitted to God, so that we can surrender it. So many reasons, or excuses may come to mind, why we can’t or why we don’t want to, but the truth is, there’s no excuse and we can, even when we don’t want to. We allow the enemy to deceive us into thinking it’s too hard to submit to His will for our lives, when what’s harder is to suffer through the mess we cause, when we don’t submit to God. Each time we surrender to God, we learn about His nature and His faithfulness to us. We learn that God always has our best interest at heart. Yielding to God’s plan and purpose is never a waist of time. Although some of our decisions are not the will of God, God can use those decisions to teach us a lesson. It’s best to learn the lesson the first time around, so you do not continue to make the same mistakes. In the GARDEN of GETHSEMANE, I transparently share my personal business to show you the challenges I faced with obeying God and dying to my own will.
